Overview

The aims and objectives of the Association are to:-

(a) promote, foster and maintain links between the Association and the Wawasan Open University (hereafter referred to as the “University”);
(b) provide a channel of communication between Wawasan Open University and its graduates;
(c) promote academic, social and cultural communication and interactions among members;
(d) encourage members of the Association to take an active interest in the activities of the University;
(e) promote the interests of the University and to support its development;
(f) facilitate and organize meetings between members of the Association;
(g) participate actively in the physical and intellectual development of Malaysia.

All graduates of WOU are eligible to apply to become member of the WOU Alumni Association. The membership of the Association shall be divided into the following three categories:

(a) Ordinary membership
(b) Associate membership
(c) Honorary membership

In the run-up to the creation of a formally elected Executive Committee, a Pro-tem Committee has been formed on the 18 December 2010 to facilitate the establishment of this Association and the drafting of its constitution. The members of this Pro-tem Committee comprise the graduates of WOU and advisors from the University.
